Sen. Ike Ekweremadu and his wife were reportedly arrested. According to the Daily Mail, UK police have detained two Nigerians for planning to traffic a kid to Nigeria in order to harvest its organs.

Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, the former deputy senate president, were both remanded in jail and are scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police.
Ike Ekweremadu and his wife have been charged with planning to set up the importation of a child to the UK for the purpose of harvesting organs in their native Nigeria, according to the police.
Given that they are appearing in court in Uxbridge, the newspaper speculates that it is likely that the suspects were detained at Heathrow Airport.
According to the police, the inquiry was started after detectives were made aware of possible violations of current slavery laws in May 2022.
