  • Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas M.Sc Scholarship Scheme 2022 / 2023

The Partnership for Applied Sciences, Engineering, and Technology (PASET) was established in 2013 by the governments of Senegal, Ethiopia, and Rwanda, with World Bank assistance.

It intends to address systemic shortages in skills and knowledge in Sub-Saharan Africa’s key ASET disciplines, as well as to strengthen African education and training institutions’ capacity to teach high-quality technicians, engineers, and scientists to satisfy economic demands.

Over 25 African nations, as well as delegates from Brazil, China, India, Japan, and Korea, have participated in PASET’s numerous programs since 2013.

Partnership for Skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (PASET) Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) PhD Scholarship 2021


  • Possess a Master’s Degree in one of the subjects of study. The Master’s Degree must have been earned no more than six years prior to July 31, 2021.
  • Meet the admission standards of the African Host University to which they are applying.
  • Be a citizen of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Be willing to enroll full-time in a PhD program in an African Host University for the academic year.
  • Be prepared to spend 6 – 24 months in ‘ sandwich’ training in a global partner university, research center, or private company.
  • Demonstrate that their research objectives are closely matched with the RSIF Priority Thematic Areas and contribute to the development of Africa.


The RSIF PhD Scholarship pays for university tuition and fees, as well as a competitive stipend to cover living expenses, travel, medical insurance, and research expenditures.

Upon completion of their PhD, graduates will be eligible for RSIF competitive research funds.
