James Wan is an Australian director who was born on February 26, 1977. As the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious films as well as The Conjuring Universe, he has mostly worked in the horror genre. With over $2 billion in sales, the most recent horror franchise is the most successful.
Wan founded Atomic Monster, a firm that produces movies and television shows. Before moving back to Perth as an adult, he attended Lake Tuggeranong College in Canberra. Wan moved from Perth to Melbourne and enrolled at RMIT University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media from RMIT in 1999.
Early Career
Wan began his career with the Saw franchise and released his first feature-length film in 2004. The franchise enjoyed commercial success and generated over $1 billion in revenue worldwide.
